Who We Are
We are a group of independent clinicians who are working together in order to provide individuals and couples with a holistic approach to tackling the difficulties that they may be encountering in the various areas of their lives.
Our Values
We approach our work with the utmost care. We abide by spiritual values which include integrity in word and in action, respect for diversity, adherence to professional behavior, and genuine care and compassion for each of our clients.
We believe that each person is unique and precious, worthy of love and respect. We welcome diversity in its many facets and are honored to work with people from all walks of life. We are LGBTQ+ affirming providers.
Please note: We are a Neurodiversity Affirming Practice. Being neurodiversity affirming means embracing the idea that neurological differences, such as those associated with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other conditions, are natural variations in the human population and should be recognized and respected as such. It involves acknowledging that these differences are not inherently good or bad, but simply different ways of experiencing and interacting with the world.
Neurodiversity affirming attitudes involve valuing and accommodating the unique strengths, challenges, and perspectives of neurodivergent individuals, rather than trying to force them to conform to neurotypical norms. It also involves advocating for equal access to education, employment, healthcare, and other opportunities for neurodivergent individuals.
Being neurodiversity affirming requires challenging stereotypes and stigmas associated with neurological differences and promoting understanding and acceptance of diverse ways of thinking and being. It involves recognizing that everyone has unique strengths and challenges, and that the diversity of human experiences is something to be celebrated and embraced.
Diversity Statement
NMPS is committed to providing culturally sensitive services to our community and developing the multicultural capacities of its staff. We do not discriminate based on race, gender, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, socioeconomic status or marital status. Not only that but we strive to offer services that are inclusive, and give voice to these varied experiences, by providing a safe place to be heard, appreciated, and accepted.
As a practice, we encourage awareness, tolerance, respect, acceptance, understanding, and an appreciation of our differences and similarities. By fostering these processes, our hope is that others in our community will widen their awareness, develop empathy for different perspectives and life experiences, challenge stereotypes and biases, and serve as models for respect and social justice.
Our staff has extensive experience with providing support services to individuals of varying social identities and backgrounds. To enhance our knowledge and skills, we routinely engage in continuing education programs, clinical trainings, and ongoing research in diversity and multiculturalism. Our commitment to diversity is an ongoing and open-ended journey.
